This Oenpelli X-Ray bark painting was collected in 1975.  It depicts one of  the  artists lower totems which is the Mangrove Goanna that lives and hunts in the Mangroves near the beach. The life and actions of these reptiles are re enacted, and mimed during secular ceremonies performed for the entertainment of the camp.  There are no restrictions on seeing this ceremony and it may be witnessed by anyone.
